Yellow Poppy

Yellow Poppy

A yellow poppy, having just burst forth from its pod, in all its brilliance. The petals are still crinkled and wrinkled from being so tightly wrapped. I love these flowers. I’ve been able to watch them from beginning to end, and they are a flower that shows what it is like to live the fullest flower life of all…at least that’s what it looks like to me. They start out new and crinkled, but by the end of their glorious life, their petals have smoothed out and are nearly bending backward, as if their petal arms are stretched out to their fullest, having lived to their utmost. And there you have it, what this poppy means to me. 🙂
